Disassemble hydraulic wrench for cleaning

Recently, when communicating with a customer, I asked about their daily maintenance and upkeep measures for hydraulic wrenches. The customer said that they are used for assembly and have a high frequency of use, so they attach great importance to the maintenance and upkeep of wrenches. Basically, open the wrench and thoroughly clean and lubricate it every two months. I was very surprised to hear such frequent disassembly of wrenches. So, is frequent disassembly of hydraulic wrenches for cleaning good or bad for wrenches?

Generally speaking, regular cleaning and lubrication of internal components of hydraulic wrenches can remove dust, dirt, and sludge from the inside, which helps improve the efficiency and service life of hydraulic wrenches. During the dismantling and cleaning process, it is possible to check the wear of various components of the hydraulic wrench, promptly identify potential problems, and carry out repairs or replacements. Of course, the most crucial thing is to promptly detect and clean the wear, debris, and debris inside the hydraulic wrench that enter the hydraulic system, reducing the risk of failure.

However, frequent disassembly and cleaning may lead to excessive wear of hydraulic wrench components, especially sealing rings and other vulnerable parts. At the same time, the disassembly and cleaning process may lead to inaccurate assembly of components, resulting in installation errors, affecting the performance of hydraulic wrenches and spending a lot of time, reducing work efficiency. During the disassembly and installation process, it is also easy to cause the loss and omission of small parts, leading to the inability of wrenches to function properly.

Although we have always urged users to regularly maintain and lubricate the hydraulic wrench during use, and to regularly clean and lubricate the internal components of the wrench, dismantling and maintaining it every two months is indeed too frequent, which can easily affect the performance and sealing of the wrench. Therefore, we suggest that the normal dismantling and maintenance cycle should be measured in years, unless internal damage or leakage is found.
